The Carson City Silver Dollar Classic FAQ
Please read this FAQ before calling for information. Are there any early activities before the event? We offer weekly cruise nights in the months before the event on Thursday evenings. These are at different locations, usually in town at a sponsors business. Featuring music and food each Thursday 80 to 100 classic vehicles attend. Thursday is our pre-kick off party at the Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, featuring food and drink. We usually see 200 vehicles attend this kick-off party. When and where are cruise nights? Cruise Nights will be every Thursday evening beginning sometime in May. Dates and locations to be announced. Who is invited to the Street Dance? Everyone is invited. We have a live band as well as a dance area and large spectator area. Is there a charge to attend the dance? Our dance is sponsored by the Nugget Casino and is free to all. Where is the show held? Saturday and Sunday we are in Mills Park. Is there an admission fee? No. The general public is welcome at all the venues for the show. Do you have vendors? Yes. We always have many vendors. A lot of them are on their way to Hot August Nights. This is a great time to miss the crowds and shop with these vendors. They are sure to have a full stock of items. Is food available? Yes. We have a few food vendors at the Street Dance and at the park. We have drinks, hot dogs, shaved ice, lemonade, hamburgers, barbecue and some specialty type food vendors. How many vehicles register to attend? Our vehicle attendance has grown each year. Last year we had over 300 vehicles. Where can we see all the vehicles? Thursday: check out our pre-show cruise night at the Plaza Hotel 6:00 – 8:00 PM You’ll see many cars parked on the street and in the parking lot. Friday: Nugget Casino West lot and parked along Curry St. during our street dance. Saturday: Mills Park see all the cars and visit our many vendors. Sunday: Mills Park with a BBQ at 11:30 a.m. and awards starting at 1:00 PM Is the public welcome at the breakfast and BBQ? Yes. Saturday morning the Dayton Kiwanis serve pancakes, eggs, ham, coffee, milk and juice for a nominal charge. Sunday a BBQ lunch is served to the participants. The public is welcome for a nominal charge. Come out and enjoy a great lunch and have a front row seat to watch our awards ceremony. Can the public get involved in any of the other activities? We also host a poker run. The public may purchase a hand and enjoy the scenic drive and the fun. How can I register my vehicle to attend the event?
